S.W.A.G. Program

SELF. WEALTH. ACHIEVING. GREATNESS.

The American “dream” of homeownership is associated with an image of families purchasing homes, building wealth, and creating communities.

However, statistics show that many Americans are on the other end of the spectrum and unaware of this “dream” or how to attain it.

To build and rebuild communities, our country must level the playing field . . . so that everyone is exposed to information to not only help them "dream," but have the tools to move forward and accomplish them.

The 10CORE S.W.A.G. Program's mission is to help our country achieve this new normal by integrating housing literacy into our formula.

Through innovative courses, the Program removes knowledge disparities by providing Participants with substantive information through course work, innovative activities, field trips, and mock exercises with real estate professionals and entrepreneurs, among other engaging activities.

Ultimately, with these life-skills, Participants have been and will be able to take this practical knowledge back to their “nests” to change their families’ trajectories for generations.

River Rouge High School

The aforementioned quote underscores an inconvenient truth for many of the people who find themselves trapped in generational poverty. I have long held fast to the belief children rarely become what they have not seen. Consequently, there is no way children can break generational curses without being able to have access to information and other resources, which provide them with a vehicle to overcome the challenges found in their respective ecosystems. It is an honor for the River Rouge School District to partner with this groundbreaking organization and share this knowledge with our community.

Initially taught to students living in Inkster Public Housing and attending River Rouge High School, Dr. Derrick R. Coleman, Superintendent of River Rouge Schools, stated the following about the S.W.A.G. Program:

“An imbalance between rich and poor is the oldest and most fatal ailment of all republics.”

Plutarch, Greek Philosopher

The 10CORE Law Society has taken on this mountain to demonstrate to others that it can be moved. I am in full support of the 10CORE Law Society and its plan to disseminate desperately needed knowledge for children and families in the River Rouge School District and other communities with similar socioeconomic conditions.
